A small evergreen tree of the lowland rainforest, in the Sapindaceae family — the same family as the lychee. It grows from Guinea across to Cameroon and is widespread in southern Nigeria, where it is akika or aaka in Yoruba, okpu in Igbo, utantan in Edo and kafi-nama-zaki in Hausa.
Hunteria umbellata

Who should not take RIDA Fire for Men?
The carton’s caution names three groups: pregnant women, nursing mothers, and anyone who currently has diarrhoea. It is also not for anyone under 18, anyone with a known allergy to a listed ingredient, or anyone taking it in place of treatment they have been prescribed.
Diabetes medicine. One of the plants in this formula, Hunteria umbellata, has been studied for effects on blood glucose. If you take insulin or any other medicine for diabetes, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before you start and monitor your levels more closely than usual while you take it. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Heart and erectile dysfunction medicines. If you take a nitrate medicine for angina, such as glyceryl trinitrate or isosorbide, or a prescription erectile dysfunction medicine such as sildenafil or tadalafil, ask a doctor or pharmacist before adding this or any men’s herbal supplement.
Other medicines and surgery. If you take prescription medicine of any kind, or you have surgery planned, have the conversation with a pharmacist or doctor before you start rather than after. NCCIH guidance on dietary and herbal supplements is direct on the point: a product being natural does not put it outside the reach of a drug interaction. Stop taking it and seek advice if you notice any reaction that does not settle.
What does RIDA Fire for Men not do?
It is not a medicine and it does not replace one. If a doctor has prescribed you something, this goes alongside that treatment or not at all.
The manufacturer’s own wording on the front of the carton refers to sexual performance and male reproductive health. What a herbal capsule cannot do is remove a cause sitting underneath a problem. It will not raise a sperm count or resolve a fertility problem. If you and your partner have been trying to conceive without success, both of you should be assessed by a doctor, because testing is straightforward and the cause is as likely to sit on one side as the other.
