What Is Norland Anion Sanitary Napkin?
It is a disposable sanitary pad worn during your period. You peel the backing, press the pad into clean dry underwear, wear it for a few hours, then remove it and throw it away. It is one of the more widely sold pads in the Norland range in Nigeria, and it is bought for the same reason any pad is bought: absorbency, underwear protection and a clean, comfortable period.
The anion strip is a design feature printed and built into the pad. Norland has not supplied Recs-Medix with human clinical evidence for it, so this page makes no claim that the strip kills bacteria, treats infection, improves circulation or affects your health in any way. If that changes, this page will change with it.

Safety and Precautions for Norland Anion Sanitary Napkin
- For external use only. Do not insert the pad or any part of it.
- Use each pad once, then wrap and discard it. Do not wash or reuse it.
- Do not wet the pad before use. It is used dry, like any other disposable pad.
- Stop using it if you get itching, burning, redness, swelling or discomfort that does not settle.
- Keep unused pads sealed, clean and dry, and do not use a pad if its wrapper is torn, dirty or damp.
This is a hygiene product. It does not diagnose, prevent or treat infections or any other condition, and it is not a substitute for medicine, laboratory testing or advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
When Should You Speak to a Healthcare Professional?
See a doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you have severe or persistent period pain, sores, fever, pelvic pain, unusual vaginal discharge, ongoing irritation, or a strong odour that continues after you have changed your pad and washed the external genital area with plain water. Wash the outside only. The vagina cleans itself, and internal washing or douching upsets its natural balance and can make irritation worse.
Bleeding may be heavier than it should be if you are soaking through a pad every one to two hours, bleeding for longer than seven days, passing clots larger than a 10 naira coin, or feeling unusually tired or breathless during your period. Any of these is worth raising with a healthcare professional, as heavy periods are treatable and can point to something that needs checking.
How Should You Store the Pads?
Keep the pack somewhere clean, cool and dry, away from moisture, direct sunlight and heat. Store it out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many pads are in one pack?
Eight disposable pads.
How often should I change the pad?
Every few hours, and more often on heavy days. Change it as soon as it feels wet, full or uncomfortable rather than waiting for a set time. One pad is not meant to be worn all day.
Does the anion strip need to be activated with water?
No. Do not wet the pad. It is worn dry exactly like a standard disposable pad, and adding water serves no purpose. If you have seen instructions elsewhere telling you to wet the strip, disregard them and follow the instructions printed on your pack.
Can this Norland Anion Sanitary Napkin treat or prevent an infection?
No. A sanitary pad cannot diagnose, treat or prevent a vaginal infection, urinary tract infection, yeast infection or sexually transmitted infection, and it does not treat cramps, fatigue or any other symptom. If you have unusual discharge, a persistent odour, itching, burning, sores or pelvic pain, see a healthcare professional for proper assessment.
Can the pads be reused?
No. These are single-use pads. Use each one once, wrap it and put it in a bin.
