What Is Norland Anion Panty Liner?
It is a thin, disposable liner worn inside underwear. It absorbs far less than a menstrual pad and is meant for days when you want a little protection rather than full period coverage. Each pack holds 30 liners, each 155 mm long.
“Anion” is part of the product name and refers to a design feature used across the Norland hygiene range. Norland has not supplied human clinical evidence for it, so we make no claim that this liner prevents, treats or cures an infection or any medical condition, and no claim that it affects your menstrual cycle, energy levels or circulation.
What Is Norland Anion Panty Liner Used For?
- Absorbing normal everyday vaginal discharge
- Temporary protection for occasional very light spotting
- Light protection at the very beginning or the very end of a period
- Backup alongside a tampon or menstrual cup
- Helping keep underwear cleaner and drier during everyday activities
Normal vaginal discharge is healthy and helps keep the vagina clean, so it does not have to be absorbed. Wearing a liner is a comfort choice rather than a hygiene requirement.
These liners are not designed for moderate or heavy menstrual flow. For a period, use a sanitary pad with the appropriate absorbency, such as the Norland Anion Sanitary Napkin.
How Do You Use and Store It?
- Wash and dry your hands before opening a liner.
- Take one liner from the pack and peel away the protective backing.
- Press the adhesive side firmly against the centre of your underwear gusset.
- Adjust it until it sits flat and feels comfortable.
- Change it whenever it becomes damp, soiled, displaced or uncomfortable, and follow any directions printed on the pack you receive.
- Wrap the used liner in tissue or its wrapper and put it in a waste bin.
Do not wash, reuse or flush a liner or its wrapper. Keep the pack closed in a clean, cool, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight, and do not use a liner whose individual wrapping is torn or already open.
What Materials Does It Contain?
The pack front does not carry a materials list. Check the packaging supplied with your order for details of the top sheet, absorbent core, backing and adhesive.
We do not describe these liners as organic cotton, fragrance-free, chlorine-free or hypoallergenic, because none of those statements appears on the pack we hold.
Who It Suits and What to Watch For
It suits anyone who wants light protection for normal discharge, moisture or occasional spotting. Comfort and skin sensitivity vary from person to person.
- Use externally, inside underwear, only.
- Do not place a liner on broken, inflamed or badly irritated skin.
- Stop using it if persistent itching, redness, burning, soreness or a rash develops.
- Change it regularly rather than wearing a damp liner for long stretches.
- Do not treat it as a substitute for a medical examination or prescribed treatment.
This is a hygiene product and nothing more. It does not cleanse the vagina, which cleans itself, and it does not treat bacterial, fungal or sexually transmitted infections.
When Should You Speak to a Doctor?
Vaginal discharge is normal and changes through the menstrual cycle. It is commonly clear or white and does not usually have a strong unpleasant smell. Speak with a qualified healthcare professional if you notice:
- a change in the colour, smell or texture of your discharge
- more discharge than is usual for you
- itching, soreness, burning or pain when passing urine
- pain in your pelvis or lower abdomen
- sores or blisters around the vulva
- bleeding between periods, bleeding after sex, or any unexplained bleeding
General information on normal and abnormal discharge is available from NHS inform. It is not a substitute for seeing a professional who can examine you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I wear a panty liner every day?
You can, and many people do, but it is a matter of comfort rather than necessity. Change it regularly instead of leaving a damp liner in place. If you have started using liners daily because your discharge has changed, that change is worth discussing with a healthcare professional.
Does the Anion Panty Liner treat infections or remove odour?
No. It absorbs moisture and discharge, which can help underwear stay fresher, but it is not antibacterial or antifungal and it does not prevent, treat or cure vaginal infections. Persistent unusual odour should be assessed by a doctor.
Does it affect the menstrual cycle, energy levels or circulation?
No. A panty liner is worn outside the body inside your underwear. It does not regulate menstruation, balance hormones, improve immunity, increase energy or affect blood circulation.
Is it made from 100% organic cotton?
We cannot confirm that. Descriptions of this liner as 100% organic cotton circulate widely online, but no materials statement appears on the pack we hold, so we do not repeat the claim. If the pack you receive lists its materials, that printed list is the reliable source.
Can it be used during pregnancy?
Nothing on the pack restricts use during pregnancy, and an increase in normal discharge is common in pregnancy. As with any product, if you have a specific concern, speak to your midwife or doctor.
Norland Anion Panty Liner is a disposable feminine hygiene product for external use. It is not a medicine and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Always seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional about symptoms affecting your health.
