What is NeoLife Beta Guard?
NeoLife Beta Guard is a broad spectrum antioxidant supplement in tablet form, built around whole carrot concentrate and a combination of antioxidant vitamins, minerals and citrus bioflavonoids. Each daily dose of two tablets supplies vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and selenium — four nutrients that each contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Oxidative stress is the everyday wear that free radicals place on the body’s cells. Free radicals form as part of normal metabolism, and traffic fumes, generator smoke, industrial air and tobacco smoke add to the load.
Beta Guard is an antioxidant dietary supplement. Whole carrot concentrate provides food-sourced beta carotene plus other members of the carotenoid family, and additional antioxidant factors support the body’s nutrient-based protective functions. NeoLife’s own product literature describes the blend of antioxidant and detoxifying nutrients as helping the body “neutralise and metabolise toxic materials”.
The formula was developed by Dr Arthur Furst, a toxicologist, and carries the seal of the NeoLife Scientific Advisory Board on the front of the bottle. Recs-Medix Natural Solutions supplies Beta Guard as an authorised NeoLife distributor. You can see the full range on our NeoLife brand page.
Before you order, read the warnings section below. Each daily dose supplies 25 mg of vitamin B6, which is higher than the daily amounts several health authorities now advise for supplements, and there are specific points to know if you smoke.
This is a dietary supplement, not a medicine. It is intended to support general health and wellbeing, not to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
How does an antioxidant supplement work in the body?
Antioxidant nutrients help the body limit the cellular damage that free radicals cause. Vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and selenium each contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Vitamin C also contributes to the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E, and Beta Guard carries both in the same tablet.
The B vitamins in the formula do a different job. Niacin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, while vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 also contribute to the normal function of the immune system.
Beta-carotene is the orange carotenoid pigment that gives carrots their colour and is the plant-source, provitamin A form of the nutrient. In Beta Guard it comes from whole carrot concentrate rather than an isolated synthetic source, and zinc in the same tablet contributes to the normal metabolism of vitamin A.
What are the key benefits of NeoLife Beta Guard?
The benefits below come from the nutrients declared at the labelled dose of two tablets a day. Vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and selenium each contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, while the B vitamins support energy metabolism and help reduce tiredness and fatigue.

Which ingredients are in NeoLife Beta Guard?
Beta Guard contains twelve declared ingredients: one carotenoid, five vitamins, three minerals and three citrus-derived plant compounds. The amounts below are per tablet, and the labelled dose is two tablets a day.
Beta-carotene, 1.36 mg — from whole carrot concentrate
Beta-carotene is a carotenoid, the orange pigment found in carrots and other deeply coloured vegetables, and the plant-source form of provitamin A. Beta Guard supplies it from whole carrot concentrate, which brings beta carotene together with other members of the carotenoid family as they occur in the vegetable rather than as an isolated compound.
Vitamin C, 150 mg
Vitamin C is the most heavily represented nutrient in the formula. It contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, to the normal function of the immune system, to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin, blood vessels, bones and cartilage, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and to the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E. It also increases iron absorption. Alongside it Beta Guard supplies three citrus-derived components — hesperidin 7.5 mg, lemon bioflavonoid 7.5 mg and orange peel powder 7.5 mg — flavonoid compounds and orange peel of the kind that occur with vitamin C in whole citrus fruit.
Vitamin E, 15 IU
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin and contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. NeoLife describes the vitamin E in this formula as whole-food sourced and covering the tocopherol and tocotrienol family.
Chelated zinc (amino acid), 5 mg
Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, to the normal function of the immune system, to the normal metabolism of vitamin A, and to the maintenance of normal skin, hair, nails and vision. It is supplied here in amino acid chelated form.
Selenium (yeast), 7.5 µg
Selenium contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, to the normal function of the immune system, to normal thyroid function, and to the maintenance of normal hair and nails. In Beta Guard it is supplied in a yeast-grown form.
Chromium (yeast), 15 µg
Chromium contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism and to the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels. It is supplied here in a yeast-grown form, which NeoLife describes in its product literature as GTF chromium.
Niacinamide, 12.5 mg
Niacinamide is a form of niacin, also called vitamin B3. Niacin contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and to the maintenance of normal skin and normal mucous membranes. Unlike nicotinic acid, niacinamide is not associated with the skin flushing some people notice from B3 supplements.
Vitamin B6, 12.5 mg
Vitamin B6 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to the normal functioning of the nervous system, to normal red blood cell formation, to the regulation of hormonal activity and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Two tablets supply 25 mg a day — please read the vitamin B6 warning below before taking this product.
Vitamin B12, 3 µg
Vitamin B12 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to the normal functioning of the nervous system, to normal red blood cell formation, to normal psychological function and to the process of cell division.

How do you take NeoLife Beta Guard?
Take 2 tablets daily, with water. Two tablets is the full daily dose, and every amount given on this page refers to it. There is no need to split them across the day, although taking them with a meal suits most people.
- Adults: 2 tablets daily
- Do not exceed the stated dose
- Take with water; many people find a supplement easier to tolerate taken with food
- One bottle of 100 tablets covers 50 days at this dose (calculated)
Who is NeoLife Beta Guard for?
Beta Guard is a daily antioxidant supplement in single-tablet form. It suits people whose diets are light on coloured fruit and vegetables, and people who spend their days in heavy traffic, dust or industrial air. The guidance here is written for adult use — see the warnings section for why.
- Adults looking for a daily antioxidant supplement
- People who live or work in high-traffic, dusty or industrial environments
- Adults whose diets are light on coloured fruit and vegetables
- People already taking NeoLife products who want antioxidant nutrients alongside them
- Adults who prefer nutrients supplied with whole-food and citrus-derived components
What warnings and possible side effects should you know about?
Two points on this product need reading before you buy: the vitamin B6 content, and the advice on beta-carotene supplements for people who smoke. Both are set out in full below.
Vitamin B6 and nerve symptoms
Two tablets supply 25 mg of vitamin B6 a day. Several health authorities have lowered their guidance on vitamin B6 in supplements in recent years. In 2023 the European Food Safety Authority set a tolerable upper intake level of 12 mg a day for adults, including during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and identified peripheral neuropathy — nerve damage — as the effect the limit is based on. Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration requires a peripheral neuropathy warning on any supplement supplying more than 10 mg of vitamin B6 a day, and Health Canada’s 2024 review examined reports at daily doses as low as 10 mg.
What that means in practice:
- Watch for tingling, burning or numbness in the hands or feet. Stop taking the product and seek medical advice if these appear
- Add up the vitamin B6 in everything you take. Multivitamins, B-complex products and some magnesium supplements contain it, and the totals add together
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product continuously over a long period, and tell them the daily dose supplies 25 mg of vitamin B6
- Do not exceed two tablets a day
These statements have not been evaluated by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) or by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Beta-carotene and smoking
If you smoke, speak to your doctor before taking this or any other beta-carotene supplement. In its 2024 opinion on vitamin A and beta-carotene, the European Food Safety Authority advised that smokers should avoid food supplements containing beta-carotene. This advice applies to supplemental beta-carotene and not to beta-carotene from ordinary food.
Possible side effects
Take Beta Guard with food if you find supplements sit heavily. Digestive discomfort and allergic reactions are possible with any supplement, and vitamin B6 at this level carries the nerve symptoms described above. Stop taking the product and seek medical advice if you notice anything unexpected.
Who should avoid NeoLife Beta Guard or check with a doctor first?
Speak to a qualified healthcare professional before taking Beta Guard if any of the following applies to you.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You smoke — see the beta-carotene advice above
- You take prescription medication of any kind. Show your pharmacist the full ingredient list, including the 25 mg daily vitamin B6
- You already take a multivitamin, B-complex or any other supplement containing vitamin B6
- You have a nerve condition, or any tingling or numbness in your hands or feet
- You have a thyroid condition — this product supplies selenium
- You have a condition affecting iron levels, including haemochromatosis — vitamin C increases iron absorption
- You have a history of kidney stones or any kidney condition
- You have a known allergy or sensitivity to any ingredient listed, including yeast-derived minerals and citrus
- You have any long-term medical condition or are due to have surgery
We write this page for adult use. Do not give Beta Guard to children or under-18s unless a doctor advises it: the daily dose supplies 25 mg of vitamin B6, and EFSA’s upper intake levels for vitamin B6 in children and adolescents run from 2.2 mg to 10.7 mg a day depending on age. Keep out of reach of children.
What does NeoLife Beta Guard not do?
Beta Guard is a nutritional supplement and nothing more. Being clear about its limits is part of using it sensibly.
- It is not a medicine and does not replace prescription medication
- It does not treat, cure or prevent cancer, or any other disease
- It does not remove heavy metals already in the body and is not a chelation treatment for heavy metal poisoning
- It is not a weight-loss product and makes no weight-loss claim
- It does not undo the effects of smoking or of living in a polluted environment, and it is not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle
- No supplement is free of possible side effects, and any claim that this one has none is untrue
- Results are not instant, and they vary between individuals
How should you store NeoLife Beta Guard?
- Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C
- Protect from light
- Keep the cap tightly closed after every use
- Do not store in a bathroom or near a heat source
- Keep out of reach of children
- Check the expiry date printed on the pack before use
What will you receive, and how do you check it is genuine?
You will receive one sealed bottle of 100 NeoLife Beta Guard tablets. The bottle is white with a white cap, printed in green, and carries the NeoLife Nutritionals name, the Arthur Furst signature, the words “Broad spectrum antioxidant”, and “Nutritional Supplement — 100 TABLETS” on the front, with a photograph of carrots, lemon and greens.
Beta Guard sold in Nigeria carries NAFDAC Registration Number A7-1206. The pack is made for NeoLife International Ltd, Lagos, Nigeria, by Natural Formulas, 2125 American Avenue, Hayward, California, USA. NAFDAC registration records the registered product; it is not an assessment of any health claim made for it.
Two pieces of wording on the pack are worth explaining before you see them. The label reads “NOT SOLD IN RETAIL STORES. Available Exclusively from NeoLife Distributors” — that is NeoLife’s distribution model, and it is exactly how this product reaches you. Recs-Medix Natural Solutions has been an authorised NeoLife distributor since 2017, so your pack comes through the NeoLife distributor channel rather than off a general retail shelf. The label also carries “Powered by GNLD”, the company’s former name. GNLD Beta Guard and NeoLife Beta Guard are the same product under the same formula.
When your order arrives, check that the seal is intact, that a batch number and expiry date are printed on the pack, and that the label printing is clean and sharp. If anything about your pack looks wrong, contact us and we can check it against our supply records for you.

Which NeoLife products work well with Beta Guard?
Beta Guard covers antioxidant vitamins and minerals. The three NeoLife products below sit in different nutritional territory — vegetable phytonutrients, whole-grain lipids and marine omega-3 fatty acids — so each adds to what Beta Guard supplies rather than duplicating it.
- NeoLife Cruciferous Plus — a whole-food blend of cruciferous vegetables and citrus for daily vegetable nutrition, for anyone whose plate is short on greens
- NeoLife Tre-en-en — whole-grain lipids and sterols from rice bran, soya and wheat germ oils, NeoLife’s foundational cell-membrane product

Frequently asked questions
What are the functions of NeoLife Beta Guard tablets?
Beta Guard supplies antioxidant nutrients in tablet form. Its vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and selenium each contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, and its vitamin C, B vitamins, zinc and selenium contribute to the normal function of the immune system and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
What are the benefits of taking beta-carotene?
Beta-carotene is the plant-source, provitamin A carotenoid that gives carrots and other orange vegetables their colour. In Beta Guard it comes from whole carrot concentrate, which brings other carotenoids along with it. Beta Guard’s declared antioxidant benefits come from its vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and selenium rather than from its beta-carotene.
What are the ingredients in NeoLife Beta Guard?
Each tablet contains beta-carotene 1.36 mg, niacinamide 12.5 mg, vitamin B6 12.5 mg, vitamin B12 3 µg, vitamin C 150 mg, vitamin E 15 IU, chromium (yeast) 15 µg, selenium (yeast) 7.5 µg, chelated zinc (amino) 5 mg, hesperidin 7.5 mg, lemon bioflavonoid 7.5 mg and orange peel powder 7.5 mg, with the beta-carotene supplied from whole carrot concentrate.
Does NeoLife Beta Guard have side effects?
The main point is the vitamin B6: two tablets supply 25 mg a day, and high vitamin B6 intakes are linked to peripheral neuropathy — tingling, burning or numbness in the hands and feet. Stop and seek medical advice if that appears. Digestive discomfort and allergic reactions are possible with any supplement.
Can you take NeoLife Beta Guard every day, long term?
The directions are two tablets daily. Because that dose supplies 25 mg of vitamin B6, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Beta Guard continuously over a long period, and tell them that figure.
Can I take Beta Guard with a multivitamin?
Check the vitamin B6 first. Multivitamins, B-complex products and some magnesium supplements contain vitamin B6, and the amounts add together with the 25 mg a day in Beta Guard. Add up the total across everything you take and ask your pharmacist if you are unsure.
Does NeoLife Beta Guard help with blood sugar or diabetes?
Beta Guard supplies 30 µg of chromium a day, and chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels and to normal macronutrient metabolism. That is a nutritional function in healthy people. Beta Guard is not a diabetes treatment, does not lower blood sugar as a medicine does, and must never replace prescribed diabetes medication. If you are managing diabetes, speak to your doctor before adding any supplement.
Is NeoLife Beta Guard suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Ask your doctor or midwife before taking Beta Guard if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The vitamin B6 upper intake level set by EFSA in 2023 applies to pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as to other adults, and this product supplies more than that amount per day.
Where can I buy NeoLife Beta Guard in Nigeria?
Order Beta Guard from this page for delivery anywhere in Nigeria. Same-day delivery is available in Lagos and Abuja where possible, and Payment on Delivery is offered nationwide. Recs-Medix has been an authorised NeoLife distributor since 2017.
Do you ship NeoLife Beta Guard internationally?
Yes. Recs-Medix ships worldwide by DHL Express, including to the USA, the UK, Canada, the EU and Australia. Supplement rules differ by country, so check what your own customs authority allows before ordering.
