What is KEDI Multi-Vitamin + Zinc Effervescent Tablet used for?
KEDI Multi-Vitamin + Zinc Effervescent Tablet is a daily food supplement used to support immune function, energy metabolism and general nutritional wellbeing in adults. Each orange-flavoured tablet dissolves in water to deliver eight vitamins plus the mineral zinc — the formula KEDI describes as “Healthy 8 plus 1”.
Most people look for a multivitamin with zinc because their diet does not consistently supply every micronutrient. Skipped meals, repetitive food choices, long working hours and travel all widen that gap. This effervescent format is designed for that situation: one tablet, one glass of water, one simple step in a daily routine.
The format matters as much as the formula. Rather than swallowing a dense tablet, the nutrients are dispersed in water before you drink them. That suits adults who dislike swallowing tablets or capsules, and it builds a glass of water into the daily habit.
KEDI Healthcare is a long-established supplement brand in Nigeria. This product is manufactured in China by Nanjing Youneng Biotechnology Co., Ltd for KEDI Healthcare Industries (Nig.) Ltd, Lagos.
What type of supplement is this multivitamin with zinc?
This is a broad-spectrum multivitamin and mineral food supplement in effervescent tablet form, flavoured with orange. It combines vitamins A, D, E and C, the B-group vitamins B1, B2, B3 and B6, and zinc supplied as zinc gluconate — a water-soluble form suited to a dissolvable drink.
It is a vitamin and mineral formulation rather than a herbal or botanical product. The effervescence comes from the reaction between citric acid and sodium hydrogen carbonate when the tablet meets water. It is sweetened with sorbitol, sucralose and acesulfame potassium.
This is a dietary supplement, not a medicine. It is intended to support general health and wellbeing, not to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
What are the benefits of taking a multivitamin with zinc?
A multivitamin with zinc helps supplement a diet that may not consistently supply every micronutrient. Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to normal macronutrient metabolism, the B-group vitamins support normal energy-yielding metabolism, and vitamins C and E contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Zinc is what distinguishes this formula from a plain multivitamin. It is an essential trace mineral the body cannot store in large amounts, so a regular dietary supply matters. Beyond immune function, zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, hair and nails, and to normal cognitive function.
Vitamin C works alongside it: it contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and it increases iron absorption from food, which is why vitamin C and zinc are so often paired in the same formula.
Key benefits at a glance
- Supports normal immune system function through zinc, vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin D
- Contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism through vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and C
- Helps maintain antioxidant defences, as vitamins C and E contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress
- Supports normal functioning of the nervous system through the B-group vitamins
- Helps maintain normal skin, hair and nails through zinc, niacin and vitamin A
- Contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue through vitamins B2, B3, B6 and C
- Increases iron absorption from the diet through its vitamin C content
- Provides a convenient once-daily orange drink for adults who dislike swallowing tablets
How does each vitamin and mineral in this formula work?
Each nutrient plays a defined role in normal body function. Below are the roles described on the KEDI label alongside well-established nutritional science.
Zinc (as zinc gluconate)
Zinc is the “plus 1” mineral in the Healthy 8 plus 1 formula. It contributes to the normal function of the immune system, to normal protein synthesis, to the maintenance of normal skin, hair, nails and vision, and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)
Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin, blood vessels, bones and cartilage. It also contributes to normal immune function, helps reduce tiredness and fatigue, and — as the KEDI label notes — promotes iron absorption in the body.
Vitamin D (cholecalciferol)
Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, to the maintenance of normal bones, teeth and muscle function, and to the normal function of the immune system.
Vitamin E (dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate)
The label describes vitamin E as a highly effective antioxidant. It contributes to the protection of cell components from oxidative damage, working alongside vitamin C.
Vitamin A (retinyl acetate)
The label describes vitamin A as helping to maintain healthy teeth, skeletal and soft tissue, and supporting normal immune function. It also contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and normal skin.
The B-group vitamins: B1, B2, B3 and B6
These four work together across energy metabolism and nervous system function. The KEDI label notes that vitamin B1 (thiamine) helps maintain the normal physiological function of the nervous system, vitamin B2 (riboflavin) supports the normal working of the brain and nervous system, and vitamin B6 is essential for energy metabolism. Vitamin B3 (niacin) contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and mucous membranes. Collectively they contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

How do you take KEDI Multi-Vitamin + Zinc Effervescent Tablet?
Dissolve one tablet in a glass of water — either warm or at room temperature — and drink once the fizzing has settled. Take one tablet daily. Do not exceed the recommended amount.
Do not swallow, chew or suck the tablet. Dissolve it completely in water before drinking. The acid and bicarbonate base in an effervescent tablet are designed to react in water, not in the mouth or throat. This is what the label means by its instruction that the tablets should be dissolved in water and not taken orally.
A small amount of precipitate may remain at the bottom of the glass. This comes from the condensed fruit powder in the formula, is normal, and does not affect the drink.
When is the best time to take zinc and a multivitamin?
Most people take a multivitamin with zinc in the morning with or shortly after breakfast. Taking zinc with food helps reduce the chance of stomach discomfort, and pairing the dose with a meal makes the habit easier to keep. Consistency matters more than the exact hour of the day.
If you find zinc unsettling on a light stomach, take it after a fuller meal instead. Some people prefer an evening dose for the same reason — that is equally acceptable, provided it stays consistent.
Take one tablet daily as directed on the label, alongside a varied diet, adequate hydration and regular sleep. Results vary between individuals. Supplements are intended to support a healthy diet and lifestyle, not to replace them.
What should you avoid when taking multivitamins?
Avoid taking more than one multivitamin product at the same time, as doubling up can push vitamins A, D and E — and zinc — above safe daily limits. Avoid taking this alongside a separate zinc supplement, and do not exceed the one tablet per day stated on the label.
- Do not stack multivitamins. Vitamins A, D and E accumulate in the body, unlike the B vitamins and vitamin C.
- Be careful with additional zinc. Consistently high zinc intake over time can interfere with copper absorption.
- Check with a pharmacist if you take prescription medicines, because zinc may interact with some medicines.
- Note the sodium content. Effervescent tablets contain sodium from the sodium hydrogen carbonate base, and this label declares 10415mg of sodium per 100g of product. If you follow a sodium-restricted diet or manage your blood pressure, discuss effervescent supplements with your doctor.
- Do not treat it as a replacement for meals. A supplement fills gaps in a diet; it does not substitute for vegetables, protein and whole foods.

Who should avoid this product or check with a doctor first?
Speak to a qualified healthcare professional before starting this supplement if any of the following applies to you.
- Pregnant women and nursing mothers — the label directs you to consult your physician before taking this product.
- People with phenylketonuria (PKU) — KEDI does not recommend this product for people with PKU.

- Anyone sensitive to any listed ingredient — including colour additives, sorbitol or the sweeteners used.
This product contains tartrazine and sunset yellow. Under EU and UK food labelling rules, these colours carry the advisory that they may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children. Sorbitol may also have a laxative effect if consumed in excess.
What are the side effects of taking a zinc multivitamin?
Taken at the recommended one tablet per day, a multivitamin with zinc is generally well tolerated by healthy adults. The effect most commonly reported is mild stomach discomfort when zinc is taken on an empty stomach, which usually settles when the dose is taken with food.
Excessive intake over long periods is where problems arise, which is why the label instructs you not to exceed the recommended amount. If you experience any unexpected reaction, stop taking the product and speak to a healthcare professional.
What does this product not do?
- It is not a medicine and cannot replace prescription medication or medical treatment
- It does not treat, cure or prevent any named disease or infection
- It does not deliver instant results
- It is not a substitute for a balanced diet, adequate sleep or physical activity
- It does not guarantee any specific outcome; individual responses differ
How should you store the tablets?

- Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C, protected from direct light
- Do not store in a bathroom or anywhere humid
- Keep out of the reach of children
- Check that the seal is intact before first use, and check the manufacturing date printed under the tube

Frequently asked questions
What are the benefits of taking a multivitamin with zinc?
It covers several micronutrients in one daily step rather than requiring separate products. Zinc contributes to normal immune function, the B vitamins to normal energy-yielding metabolism and the reduction of tiredness, and vitamins C and E to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
What should you avoid when taking multivitamins?
Avoid a second multivitamin or a separate zinc supplement at the same time, and never exceed one tablet per day. Check with your doctor if you follow a sodium-restricted diet, as effervescent tablets contain sodium. A multivitamin should not replace real meals.
What are the side effects of taking zinc multivitamins?
Most healthy adults tolerate it well at the recommended dose. Mild stomach discomfort can occur if zinc is taken on an empty stomach, and taking the tablet with food usually resolves this. Stop use and speak to a healthcare professional if you experience any unexpected reaction.
When is the best time to take zinc?
Morning, with or shortly after food, suits most people, because taking zinc with a meal reduces the chance of stomach discomfort. An evening dose after a meal works equally well. Taking it at the same time each day matters more than the specific hour.
Can I swallow the tablet instead of dissolving it?
No. Do not swallow, chew or suck the tablet. Drop one tablet into a glass of water, wait for the fizzing to settle, then drink.
Is this suitable for pregnant women?
The KEDI label directs pregnant women and nursing mothers to consult their physician before taking this product. Speak to your doctor or midwife before use.
Where can I buy KEDI Multi-Vitamin + Zinc Effervescent Tablet, and do you ship internationally?
You can order online from Recs-Medix for delivery nationwide across Nigeria, with same-day delivery in Lagos and Abuja and payment on delivery available. Recs-Medix also ships worldwide by DHL Express, including to the USA, the UK, Canada, the EU and Australia.
